Summer school hours begin in Jazan schools today, Sunday

The General Directorate of Education in Jazan announced the implementation of summer school hours in Jazan's public and private schools, effective Sunday. This decision aligns with the annual ministerial directives aimed at adjusting the school day to accommodate climatic changes and the changing seasons, ensuring a suitable and comfortable learning environment for students, teachers, and administrative staff in the region.
Details of summer school hours in Jazan schools
The General Directorate of Education in Jazan explained that school attendance and dismissal times have been adjusted to align with the new summer time, aiming to take advantage of the early morning hours when temperatures are more moderate. Accordingly, the morning assembly for all schools will be at 6:45 AM, with the first class beginning at 7:00 AM. The Directorate called upon school principals and parents to cooperate and adhere to the new schedule to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process from the first day of implementation. It also emphasized the importance of preparing students both psychologically and physically for this change to guarantee excellent academic performance.
Organizational and environmental dimensions of changing study times
The Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia adopts a system of alternating summer and winter school hours as a flexible organizational measure that takes into account the significant geographical and climatic variations between the Kingdom's different regions. The Jazan region, with its coastal geography and relatively hot climate during the summer months, requires earlier school hours to take advantage of the cooler early mornings and avoid the peak heat at midday. This system helps mitigate the impact of high temperatures on students as they leave school and return home, directly contributing to their health and safety and enhancing their ability to learn and concentrate during the first lessons.
Positive impact on society and the educational process
The impact of implementing summer school hours extends beyond education and student achievement. It also includes regulating traffic flow and facilitating the commute of parents and staff in the early mornings. Early scheduling helps reduce traffic congestion on the streets surrounding educational complexes in Jazan city and its surrounding governorates, ensuring safe and easy access for everyone. This schedule also allows teaching and administrative staff to make better use of the school day and complete the prescribed curricula according to the Ministry's approved timelines. This enhances the efficiency of the educational system as a whole at the local and regional levels and contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in developing the education sector.
