In a new humanitarian and medical achievement added to the Kingdom's long record of serving pilgrims, the Saudi Red Crescent in Madinah successfully saved the life of a 61-year-old Indonesian pilgrim. This heroic intervention came after the pilgrim suffered complete cardiac and respiratory arrest at his hotel in the central area surrounding the Prophet's Mosque. The teams managed to restore his pulse in a record response time of just three minutes and one second.

Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority's Madinah branch, explained that the operations room at the region's medical evacuation center received the emergency report about the case. Thanks to the high level of training and strategic deployment of the Saudi Red Crescent, the paramedics were able to reach and attend to the patient within an exceptional response time of 3 minutes and 1 second. This directly contributed to managing the situation and saving the patient's life before serious brain complications arose due to oxygen deprivation.

Dr. Al-Zahrani explained that the ambulance team immediately began attending to the Indonesian pilgrim upon arrival, promptly administering advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to the latest internationally approved medical protocols adopted by the Authority. This included the use of defibrillators and the administration of life-saving medications, which, thanks to God's grace, resulted in the patient regaining a pulse and breathing at the scene. After his vital signs stabilized and he passed the critical stage, he was quickly transported by ambulance equipped with the latest medical technology to Al-Salam Waqf Hospital in Madinah for further examinations and to receive the necessary medical care.
