A resident was arrested for transporting violators of the border security system in Jazan

The General Directorate of Mujahideen patrols in the Jazan region successfully thwarted another smuggling attempt, arresting a Yemeni resident for transporting 10 individuals violating border security regulations . These individuals were of Ethiopian and Yemeni nationalities. This successful security operation is part of the ongoing efforts and high level of vigilance maintained by Saudi security sectors to protect the Kingdom's borders and maintain its internal stability.

The resident involved and the ten violators were apprehended, and initial legal procedures were initiated against them. They were immediately referred to the competent authorities, pending their transfer to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and the application of deterrent penalties. The Jazan region, by its very nature as a border area, is a vital region that witnesses continuous security intensification to prevent any attempts at infiltration or smuggling of people and contraband. This highlights the pivotal role of the Mujahideen patrols in conjunction with the Border Guard and other security agencies.

Severe penalties await those who facilitate the transport of border security violators

In this context, the official spokesperson for the General Directorate of Mujahideen emphasized that the regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia show absolutely no leniency towards anyone who facilitates the entry of border security violators or contributes to their transportation or sheltering within the Kingdom's territory. He clarified that providing any assistance or service to these violators in any form is a major crime punishable by the strictest laws.

The legally prescribed penalties for this offense include imprisonment for up to 15 years and a hefty fine of up to one million Saudi riyals. In addition, the vehicle used in the smuggling operation is confiscated, as is the residence or shelter used for harboring the smugglers. Furthermore, the perpetrator will be publicly shamed in local media at their own expense. The spokesperson emphasized that these acts are classified as major crimes warranting arrest and are considered breaches of honor and integrity, given the direct threat they pose to national and economic security.

Security and national dimensions of protecting Saudi borders

These intensified security campaigns fall within the Kingdom's comprehensive vision to enhance internal security, regulate the labor market, and combat illegal infiltration. Border protection is not limited to purely security matters; it extends to preserving the Kingdom's economic and social gains and preventing the emergence of uncontrolled areas that could threaten public safety. These stringent measures, implemented at the regional and international levels, underscore the Kingdom's commitment to applying international standards in combating human trafficking and organized smuggling, thus reinforcing its position as a state governed by the rule of law and possessing institutions capable of effectively enforcing its sovereignty and protecting its territory.

How does it contribute to strengthening national security?

Security authorities called upon all citizens and residents to recognize their national responsibility and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any violations related to residency, labor, and border security regulations. Reports can be submitted confidentially and securely by calling the unified number (911) in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions. In the rest of the Kingdom, contact can be made via the numbers (999) and (996). The authorities emphasized that all reports received are treated with complete confidentiality and processed immediately, without any liability on the part of the reporter.
