Rainfall in Saudi Arabia: Najran receives the highest amount, and six other regions receive rainfall

Several regions in the Kingdom experienced heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, as detailed in the daily report from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, which rainfall was recorded in the Thar Governorate of the Najran region, reaching 27.4 mm, reflecting the heavy rains that fell across the southern parts of the country, including the regions of Asir, Jazan, Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province.
These rains are part of a typical seasonal pattern observed across large parts of the Arabian Peninsula, where climatic conditions are conducive to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, particularly over the southwestern highlands. These rains are of paramount importance to the Kingdom due to its desert climate, as they directly contribute to replenishing groundwater reservoirs and dams, and support the agricultural sector by irrigating crops and providing natural grazing land for livestock. They also play a vital role in improving air quality and moderating the climate, and transform the desert landscape into a lush green landscape that attracts hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Rain of goodness... renews life throughout the Kingdom
This time of year is known for its blessed rains, eagerly awaited by residents for their positive impact on various aspects of life. In agricultural areas, these rains are a lifeline, restoring fertility to the land and reducing reliance on desalinated water for irrigation. Environmentally, they contribute to the growth of wild plants and seasonal flowers, enhancing biodiversity and supporting local ecosystems. Relevant authorities, such as the National Center of Meteorology and Civil Defense, continuously monitor rainfall patterns and issue necessary warnings to ensure the safety of citizens and residents, particularly in areas prone to flash floods in valleys and ravines.
