Achievements of the slaughterhouses in the Holy City during the Hajj season of 1447 AH

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah Region announced record-breaking service levels for pilgrims and residents, with over 17,569 people benefiting from the services of the slaughterhouses in the Holy City during the period from the 1st to the 7th of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH. These efforts reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to providing the best services and facilitating the performance of religious rites with the highest standards of quality and environmental safety.

The management and organization of sacrificial animal slaughter has undergone radical transformations over the decades. From traditional methods, the Kingdom has transitioned to an integrated system that utilizes the latest global technologies in meat and organic waste management. This continuous development reflects the wise leadership's commitment to providing a healthy and safe environment, preventing the spread of epidemics and diseases that posed a significant challenge in previous seasons before the implementation of modern regulations.

Statistics and record numbers in the slaughterhouses of the Holy City

included the slaughterhouses in the Holy City of Mecca thorough veterinary inspection, strict health controls, and direct supervision of all slaughtering operations to ensure compliance with approved Sharia and health requirements. The South Makkah (B) slaughterhouse served 4,094 beneficiaries, while the West Makkah slaughterhouse served 1,772, reflecting an excellent geographical distribution that efficiently meets the growing demand.

These plans focus on raising the level of field readiness and integrating regulatory and technical work to accommodate the increasing number of beneficiaries during the season.

Engineer Al-Daghis also pointed out the continuation of daily field monitoring of slaughterhouses, markets and related facilities, to ensure full compliance with health and environmental requirements, and to achieve the highest food safety standards for the pilgrims and residents of Makkah throughout the Hajj period, which reflects the bright face of Saudi government services.
