Princess Nourah University organizes the “Gulf Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Education”

Organized Princess Nourah University Bint Abdulrahman, on Wednesday, inaugurated the Gulf Virtual Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, entitled: “Smart Transformation and a Future Vision,” coinciding with the year artificial intelligenceWith the participation of a number of experts, researchers and specialists.
The symposium served as a specialized scientific platform to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on the course of history Higher education Innovation contributes to improving the quality of education, raising the efficiency of institutional processes, promoting digital transformation, supporting decision-making, and anticipating the future of education in light of smart technologies.
The Acting President of the University, Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, said during her participation in the symposium: “This stage is an opportunity for Gulf universities to enhance their future readiness, build knowledge partnerships, exchange successful institutional experiences, and enhance readiness for the professions of tomorrow through adaptive learning environments.”.
She noted that “this symposium represents a platform for quality dialogue, a space for exchanging experiences, and reviewing best practices and experiences, leading to laying solid foundations for fruitful Gulf cooperation in this promising field.”.

Smart and sustainable universities

The symposium highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in the higher education system, which contributes to the development of education and learning, raising the efficiency of institutional processes, the transition towards smart and sustainable universities, stimulating scientific research and innovation in artificial intelligence applications, in addition to promoting the exchange of experiences, and building local and international partnerships between higher education institutions and relevant bodies in the fields of artificial intelligence.

The symposium included specialized panel discussions, with the main session titled: “The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Global Trends and the Gulf Context.”
The first panel discussion addressed “Artificial Intelligence and Institutional Transformation in Higher Education: From Vision to Strategy to Sustainability,” covering various topics including: AI governance in higher education institutions, and the smart university and institutional transformation.

Artificial intelligence fields

The second session, titled “Artificial Intelligence: New Horizons for Education, Research, and Innovation,” discussed specialized topics, most notably artificial intelligence in higher education and its applications in scientific research.
The third session addressed “Artificial Intelligence in Gulf Universities: Experiences and Institutions,” and included an interactive panel discussion with the session's guests. The symposium concluded with a statement outlining the key findings and recommendations. The
symposium's organization reflects the strategic plan objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, which aim for excellence in teaching and learning, promote digital transformation in higher education, contribute to the development of the education, research, and innovation system, enhance institutional performance, and strengthen local and international collaborations and partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence.
