Visit visas do not entitle you to perform Hajj: Get your Hajj permit now

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's preparations for the Hajj season, the Ministry of Interior issued an urgent and decisive statement of importance to all visitors and residents. The Ministry categorically affirmed that visit visas of all types and designations do not authorize their holders to perform the Hajj rituals in any way. The relevant authorities emphasized that obtaining a Hajj permit is an essential and indispensable requirement for performing the Hajj pilgrimage, warning against any laxity in adhering to these instructions, which are primarily aimed at protecting the pilgrims and ensuring the smooth performance of the rituals.

The evolution of the Kingdom's historical organizations and efforts in crowd management

Over the decades, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has borne a major historical and Islamic responsibility in caring for the Two Holy Mosques and serving their visitors. Historically, Mecca and the Holy Sites have witnessed tremendous development in infrastructure and regulations governing Hajj. In the past, the numbers increased uncontrollably, posing significant security and health challenges. Hence, the urgent need arose to regulate the numbers according to a specific capacity, leading to the development of the permit system. This historical development was not a sudden occurrence, but rather the result of extensive studies and accumulated experience to ensure the safety and security of millions of Muslims who converge on one place at the same time, making the management of such crowds one of the most complex logistical operations in the world.

The strategic importance and overall impact of imposing a Hajj permit

The requirement to obtain a Hajj permit has far-reaching implications, extending to crucial regional and international dimensions. Locally, this regulation enables government, health, and security agencies to provide high-quality services, ensure superior medical care, and prevent overcrowding that could lead to disastrous consequences. Regionally and internationally, adherence to these regulations reflects a civilized image of the Muslim world and guarantees the equitable distribution of Hajj quotas among Islamic countries, thus allowing those who have never performed Hajj to do so in a safe and stable environment. This meticulous organization further enhances the Kingdom's standing as a leading nation in the efficient and effective management of large gatherings of people.

A call for compliance and reporting of violators during the 1447 AH season

In a related context, the Ministry of Interior urged everyone to fully comply with the regulations governing this year's Hajj season (1447 AH). It called for close cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure the highest levels of security and safety for the pilgrims. The Ministry firmly warned that any violation of these regulations would subject the perpetrators to the strict penalties stipulated by Saudi law. To ensure the implementation of these measures, the Ministry called on citizens and residents to report any violators attempting to perform Hajj without a permit by calling the unified number (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or (999) in the rest of the Kingdom.
