Fatwa booths and translators to enhance services for pilgrims in Mecca

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its pioneering efforts in serving pilgrims in Mecca. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visitation, has launched a series of field awareness programs for pilgrims. These efforts are concentrated at Al-Hal Mosque in the Al-Ja'ranah area, located east of the Holy City and approximately 24 kilometers from the Grand Mosque, as part of the comprehensive strategic plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, to ensure the provision of the best guidance and counseling services.
The historical development of efforts to serve pilgrims in Mecca
Since the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serving pilgrims in Mecca has been a top priority for the wise leadership. Historically, guidance and religious rulings have evolved from simple study circles held in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque and other major historical mosques to a comprehensive institutional system utilizing the latest technologies. The Al-Ja'ranah Mosque, which holds great historical significance as the place where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered into the state of ihram after the Battle of Hunayn, is witnessing a qualitative leap in service provision. The surrounding courtyards have been transformed into centers of knowledge dissemination equipped with all means of comfort and guidance, reflecting the Kingdom's historical and ongoing commitment to developing the infrastructure and services of the holy sites and facilitating the performance of religious rites for millions of Muslims from around the world.
Fatwa and translation booths: Modern technologies to overcome obstacles
Modern awareness programs include providing religious guidance and immediate answers to pilgrims' inquiries regarding the rulings of Hajj rituals. This is done through dedicated Islamic awareness booths staffed by a select group of officially appointed preachers qualified in both religious and legal matters. To ensure that awareness messages reach diverse nationalities, professional translators in multiple languages are provided, breaking down language barriers and facilitating effective communication. Services also include the distribution of informational and religious publications in several languages, in addition to the use of interactive electronic screens within the mosque to broadcast continuous awareness messages. This is all part of utilizing modern technologies to enhance communication with the pilgrims and facilitate their access to accurate and clear religious information.
The regional and international impact of facilitating the rituals of the pilgrims
The importance of these programs extends beyond the local level, impacting regionally and internationally. Enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals according to the teachings of Islamic law, derived from the Quran and Sunnah, contributes to conveying a positive image of Islam's tolerance and ease to the entire world. When pilgrims return to their homelands enriched with a spiritual experience and sound understanding of Islamic law, they become ambassadors of tolerance and moderation in their communities. Through these efforts, the Ministry seeks to correct misconceptions surrounding the rituals, thereby contributing to raising religious awareness and enhancing the pilgrims' experience. This meticulous organization reinforces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as the heart of the Islamic world and underscores its pivotal role in managing millions of pilgrims efficiently and effectively, while providing a safe and secure environment that fosters tranquility and peace during the performance of the rituals.
