Turkish pilgrims praise the success of the Makkah Route Initiative to facilitate Hajj

A large number of Turkish pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative in Istanbul, Turkey, praised the high level of organization and the exceptional ease with which procedures were completed at the initiative's terminal. The pilgrims affirmed that the advanced services provided directly contributed to creating an atmosphere of tranquility and comfort, thus facilitating their spiritual journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals with ease and convenience, avoiding the hardship of long waits at airports.
The historical development of serving pilgrims through the Makkah Route Initiative
The interest in serving pilgrims dates back decades, but a qualitative shift began with the launch of the Makkah Route Initiative in 1438 AH (2017 CE). This pioneering initiative, part of the Guests of God Service Program stemming from the Kingdom's Vision 2030, represents a quantum leap in the history of facilitating the Hajj journey. The Saudi Ministry of Interior continues to implement this initiative for the eighth consecutive year, and for the fourth year in Turkey, with the aim of providing comprehensive services to pilgrims in their home countries before their departure. Since its inception, the initiative has successfully served more than 1,254,994 pilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom's historical and ongoing commitment to developing the Hajj and Umrah system and employing the latest technologies to serve Muslims from all over the world.
Regional and international impact of facilitating Hajj procedures
The impact of these efforts extends beyond the Kingdom's borders, leaving a broad regional and international mark. By streamlining entry procedures, collecting biometric data, and verifying health documents at the airports of participating countries, the Kingdom is setting a global benchmark for crowd management and facilitating international travel. This meticulous organization reinforces Saudi Arabia's position as a leader in providing advanced logistics and security services. Furthermore, the electronic tagging of luggage and its link to pilgrims' accommodations in Mecca and Medina ensures unprecedented efficiency, reducing congestion at Saudi entry points and positively impacting the comfort of pilgrims arriving from all continents.
Qualified staff in multiple languages to serve pilgrims
The initiative is distinguished by its highly qualified Saudi staff, who speak several languages, including Turkish, Arabic, and English. This linguistic diversity aims to break down language barriers, facilitate effective communication with pilgrims, and provide clear and concise guidance. These staff members operate within a unified system that includes issuing entry permits and completing all customs and security requirements in record time. This allows pilgrims to proceed directly to their buses upon arrival at the Kingdom's airports, while the relevant authorities handle the delivery of their luggage to their accommodations.
The feelings of Turkish pilgrims and the fulfillment of a lifelong dream
In a related context, Turkish pilgrims expressed their overwhelming happiness with these facilitations. Hajji Bahadir Kurtuluş explained that the smooth procedures from the moment he arrived at Istanbul Airport contributed to his sense of comfort and peace of mind. He noted with deep emotion that his dream of performing Hajj, which he had eagerly awaited for 15 years, had finally been realized with ease and convenience thanks to these blessed efforts. For his part, Hajji Sanai Bulut, 60, who was accompanied on this spiritual journey by his wife, confirmed that they had waited many years to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. Bulut pointed out that the procedures inside the initiative hall were characterized by meticulous organization and exceptional speed, which greatly contributed to saving them time and physical and mental effort.
Government and digital integration for the success of the initiative
It is worth noting that the continued success of this initiative is the result of collaboration and integration among several Saudi government entities. The Ministry of Interior is implementing the initiative in close cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media. The General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, the Guests of God Service Program, and the General Directorate of Passports are also actively participating. This massive undertaking is being carried out in conjunction with the digital partner (stc Group), ensuring a robust technological infrastructure that supports all phases of the initiative and guarantees the provision of services befitting the pilgrims and in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership.
