The Prime Minister of Pakistan visits the Prophet's Mosque and meets with the Crown Prince

Within the framework of the fraternal and historical relations that bind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, paid an important visit to the Kingdom. He and his accompanying delegation began this blessed visit by traveling to Madinah, where he visited the Prophet's Mosque on Thursday. He performed prayers in the Rawdah Ash-Sharifah (the area between the Prophet's grave and his pulpit) and had the honor of greeting the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his two companions (may God be pleased with them), in a spiritual atmosphere reflecting the depth of the religious ties that unite the leaders and peoples of the Islamic nation. This visit also underscores the Pakistani leadership's keenness to draw blessings and spirituality from these holy sites before embarking on any official duties.
Upon his arrival at the Prophet's Mosque, His Excellency was received by a number of senior officials, led by the Commander of the Prophet's Mosque Security Force, Colonel Mutaib bin Nuaiman Al-Badrani, and the Director of the Royal Protocol Office in the region, Ibrahim bin Abdullah Barri. This official reception reflects the great warmth with which the Kingdom's leadership treats its guests from among the leaders of Islamic countries, and underscores the special place Islamabad holds with Riyadh.
Historical roots and well-established strategic relationships
The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan rests on solid historical foundations dating back decades of joint cooperation and Islamic solidarity. Since the founding of Pakistan, the Kingdom has consistently stood by its side in various forums and crises, forging a strategic alliance that extends beyond political aspects to encompass economic, military, and cultural cooperation. This historical background makes every visit by the Pakistani Prime Minister to the Kingdom a significant opportunity to renew commitments and reaffirm the two countries' dedication to moving forward towards a brighter future that serves the interests of both brotherly nations. The Kingdom is considered Pakistan's foremost economic supporter, with Saudi investments and financial deposits contributing to the stability of the Pakistani economy, while Pakistan provides ongoing support in the areas of training and security cooperation.
High-level talks with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince
Following his visit to Madinah, the Prime Minister proceeded to Jeddah, where he met with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. During this cordial meeting, they reviewed the prospects for the close bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed existing cooperation and opportunities for its development in various economic and investment sectors. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince commended the Prime Minister's tireless efforts to promote growth and prosperity in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of developing the strategic partnership to achieve sustainable development for both nations.
Regional and international dimensions of the Pakistani Prime Minister's visit
This visit is of paramount importance given the rapid developments unfolding on the regional and international stage. Discussions addressed the latest events in the region, particularly the evolving regional situation and the ongoing talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, hosted by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing and intensifying diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability to the region and sparing it the ravages of conflict. Saudi-Pakistani coordination on these sensitive issues reflects the weight of both countries and their anticipated influence in shaping peaceful solutions that bolster regional and international security.
In this context, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince commended the joint efforts led by the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of the Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. This high level of coordination between the political and military leaderships of both countries ensures a unified vision and stance on shared challenges and strengthens Pakistan's role as a strategic ally of the Kingdom in maintaining the security and stability of the Islamic world and the entire region.
