The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained, within the campaign, “The best of our land“It was launched to highlight support for local products and to encourage their consumption during the holy month, that the production of red meat in the Kingdom reached about (293) thousand tons, to contribute to the dominance of Ramadan tables with its rich variety and distinguished quality.
Safe and high-quality food products
She stated that supporting and developing the livestock sector contributes to achieving a balance between meeting the increasing demand for red meat and preserving natural resources, through the application of best practices in breeding and production, improving the efficiency of supply chains, and enhancing veterinary and preventive services.
In addition to working on developing and improving the efficiency of the local production system to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality food products, the ministry also highlighted its contribution to supporting livestock breeders across the Kingdom.
The ministry emphasized the high nutritional value of red meat, noting its numerous health benefits, including muscle building. Red meat is rich in high-quality protein, which provides essential amino acids necessary for muscle growth and development. It also helps prevent anemia and boosts the immune system. Furthermore, the ministry stated that red meat is a primary source of vitamin B2, which is essential for DNA and red blood cell formation, and supports nerve health and function.
Health benefits
It also contains zinc, which supports immune function, aids in wound healing, and is involved in DNA formation. It is also rich in various B vitamins, such as B2, B3, and B6, which play a role in energy metabolism, nervous system function, and red blood cell production. Additionally, it contains selenium, an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage, supports thyroid function, and boosts the immune system.
The “Our Land’s Bounty” campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of consuming local products and supporting farmers and producers. The campaign contributes to improving the quality of food products and increasing self-sufficiency, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to achieve sustainable development and strengthen the national economy.
