The goals of the Makkah Route Initiative are to facilitate the Hajj journey

The Makkah Route Initiative primarily aims to provide high-quality and exceptional services to pilgrims from participating countries. The initiative facilitates the reception of pilgrims and the completion of all their procedures in their home countries with ease and convenience before they board their flights. These streamlined procedures begin with collecting the travelers' biometric data and issuing the Hajj visa electronically, followed by completing passport control procedures at the departure airport, after careful verification of all necessary health requirements.

Furthermore, the initiative includes coding and sorting luggage according to pre-arranged transportation and accommodation within the Kingdom. Upon arrival, pilgrims proceed directly to designated buses that will transport them to their accommodations in the Makkah and Madinah regions via dedicated routes, while partner organizations handle the delivery of their luggage seamlessly.

The historical context and continuous development of serving the guests of God

In its historical context, this unique initiative is a fruit of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, specifically the "Guests of God Service Program." Launched in 1438 AH (2017 CE), the initiative has witnessed remarkable development and expansion year after year. The Ministry of Interior is currently implementing the initiative in its eighth year, and since its inception, it has served more than 1,254,994 pilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom's outstanding success and exceptional organizational capabilities in crowd management and the application of technology to serve humanity.

This expansion also reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to harnessing the latest technologies and artificial intelligence to provide a safe and comfortable spiritual experience for pilgrims, leaving a profound and positive impression on Muslims worldwide.

Integrating national efforts to ensure the success of the work

This success would not have been possible without close integration and cooperation among various government sectors. The initiative is being implemented through strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media. The General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, the Guests of God Service Program, and the General Directorate of Passports are also actively participating.
