Syria

In May 2025, during an official visit by US President Donald Trump to the Kingdom, he issued a decision to lift sanctions on Syria, following a request from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Crown Prince
stated that the Kingdom had succeeded in lifting the sanctions on Syria to ensure its territorial integrity and the reconstruction of its economy.
During his address at the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh, the US President expressed his hope that the Syrian government would succeed in restoring security to the country and that the lifting of sanctions would provide a new opportunity for it.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the United States' decision to lift the sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic under the Caesar Act, affirming that this step would support stability, prosperity, and development in Syria, thus fulfilling the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people.

Syria and Lebanon

In March 2025, under the gracious directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister – may God protect them – the Kingdom hosted a meeting in Jeddah, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, between the Minister of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic, Major General (Ret.) Marhaf Abu Qasra, and the Minister of National Defense of the Lebanese Republic, Major General Michel Mansour, and their accompanying security delegations. An agreement was signed, during which both sides affirmed the strategic importance of demarcating the border between the two countries, forming joint legal and specialized committees in several fields, and activating coordination mechanisms to address security and military challenges, particularly those that may arise along their shared border. It
was also agreed that a follow-up meeting would be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the near future.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministers of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Lebanese Republic expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom's leadership – may God support them – and to His Royal Highness the Minister of Defense for the Kingdom's sponsorship and hosting of the meeting, and expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes achieved.

President Trump stated during his address at the Saudi-American Investment Conference, “Resolving the conflict in Sudan was not part of my plans, but Prince Mohammed bin Salman asked me to intervene decisively to resolve the crisis.”
He added that Prince Mohammed bin Salman explained the situation in Sudan to him, describing it as a “horrific war,” and also described Sudan’s history and the culture of its people.
He continued, “After 30 minutes of the Crown Prince’s remarks, I began studying the situation and taking action in this direction.”
