The Crescent Sighting Department of the Supreme Court reviewed the reports it received from the courts regarding the sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah for the year 1447 AH on the evening of Friday, the twenty-ninth of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 17/4/2026 AD. After reviewing the reports it received in this regard, the department issued Decision No. (206/H) dated 29/10/1447 AH, which included: The sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah for the year 1447 AH was not confirmed on the evening of the aforementioned day. Accordingly, the Crescent Sighting Committee of the Supreme Court has decided that Saturday, 1/11/1447 AH – according to the Umm al-Qura calendar – corresponding to 18/4/2026 AD, is the thirtieth and final day of Shawwal 1447 AH, and that Sunday, 2/11/1447 AH – according to the Umm al-Qura calendar – corresponding to 19/4/2026 AD, is the first day of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH
