UN praises Saudi Arabia's efforts to restore one million degraded hectares

Al-Waer congratulated FAO's local partners, foremost among them the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the National Center for Vegetation Development, and the National Afforestation Program, on achieving this significant environmental milestone.
He added that the Kingdom is steadily progressing along its integrated path, which began with its global initiative to combat land degradation during its presidency of the G20 in 2020.
