With a comprehensive plan, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing raises the readiness of Madinah for the Hajj season of 1447 AH
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Municipality of Madinah Region, has raised its operational readiness for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, through an integrated field plan aimed at raising the efficiency of municipal services, enhancing health control, intensifying cleaning and environmental sanitation work, and maintaining roads, tunnels and bridges.
The Secretariat has mobilized more than 5,000 human resources, more than 1,000 pieces of equipment and machinery, in addition to 9 electronic platforms covering more than 900 square kilometers, to enhance the speed of response in high-density locations.
Spatial guidance and maintenance work
The plan included the implementation of an integrated spatial guidance system with more than 950 signs, including pedestrian guidance signs, hotel numbering, pedestrian walkways and street names, in addition to traffic signs and informational sculptures in vital locations.
works also included The improvement and maintenance more than 68,000 linear meters of roads, more than 67,000 square meters of surfaces, more than 14,000 square meters of sidewalks, more than 41,000 square meters of vehicle lanes, in addition to more than 190 poles, more than 5,000 square meters of agricultural basins, as well as the maintenance of more than 26,000 square meters of renovated sidewalks, and more than 600 cubic meters of asphalt work.
The Secretariat confirmed the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Center through the implementation of proactive scenarios, the deployment of rapid intervention teams, the activation of plans to deal with rain and floods, and the allocation of the number 940 to receive reports around the clock.
This plan comes as part of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to enhance operational readiness and improve the efficiency of municipal services provided to pilgrims during the Hajj season of 1447 AH.
