The Ministry of Islamic Affairs will distribute 50,000 copies of the Quran at the Cairo International Book Fair 2026

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its cultural and Islamic presence at major international events. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the General Secretariat for Exhibitions and Conferences, is participating prominently in the 57th Cairo International Book Fair. The fair opened on Wednesday at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, with the participation of 1,457 publishing houses representing 83 countries worldwide, under the slogan "He who stops reading for an hour falls centuries behind.".

Gift of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

In a gesture reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to serving the Holy Quran, the Ministry announced the distribution of a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques: 50,000 copies of the Holy Quran. These copies, available in various sizes, editions, and popular recitations, are produced by the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah, the world's leading and most trusted authority on Quran printing. This initiative aims to make the Holy Quran accessible to Muslims, researchers, and visitors to the exhibition, reaffirming the Kingdom's pioneering role in the printing, publishing, and distribution of the Holy Quran.

Digital transformation and the use of technology

The Ministry's participation is not limited to the traditional aspect; it also keeps pace with the modern technological revolution through its distinguished pavilion, which showcases its digital transformation efforts in serving Islamic work. The pavilion offers visitors the opportunity to explore the "Islamic Electronic Library," in addition to reviewing a suite of smart applications developed by the Ministry, most notably the "Rushd" application, the "Correct Citation" application, and the "Virtual Hajj" application, which provides its services in several international languages to facilitate the rituals for pilgrims.

Virtual Reality (VR) Experience

One of the most popular sections of the pavilion is the Virtual Reality (VR) experience corner, which takes visitors on an interactive spiritual journey to the Two Holy Mosques. This technology allows users to virtually tour the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to utilizing the latest technologies to serve Islamic holy sites and showcase their beauty to the world.

Dimensions and objectives of participation

This extensive participation stems from the strategic role of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in disseminating Islam's tolerant message based on moderation and balance. It also aims to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's cultural and outreach presence abroad, and to build bridges of knowledge with diverse peoples and cultures, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great importance on showcasing the Kingdom's positive image and its efforts in serving Islam and Muslims.
