The development of bilateral relations and the establishment of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council
Historically, relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey are characterized by deep and strong historical, religious, and cultural ties. In recent years, these relations have witnessed a qualitative leap and remarkable development across all levels, culminating in the establishment of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council. The Council was established as a comprehensive institutional framework aimed at elevating bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership and unifying visions and positions on regional and international issues. Through its various committees, including the Political and Diplomatic Committee, the Council works to develop clear action plans and monitor the implementation of agreements signed between the two sides, reflecting the strong political will of the leadership of both countries to enhance joint cooperation.
The strategic dimensions of diplomatic cooperation between Riyadh and Ankara
Diplomatic and political cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Turkey is of paramount importance, extending beyond bilateral ties to encompass a positive impact at both the regional and international levels. Saudi Arabia, with its Islamic, Arab, and economic weight, and Turkey, with its strategic geopolitical location and membership in the G20, constitute two fundamental pillars of security and stability in the Middle East. Their joint coordination effectively contributes to finding peaceful solutions to regional crises, combating terrorism, and enhancing maritime security and global trade.
Furthermore, this political alignment positively impacts the economic and investment sectors, as both countries seek to increase trade volume and facilitate mutual investments, in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Turkey's development plans. The continued convening of committee meetings stemming from the Coordination Council underscores both parties' commitment to building a sustainable partnership capable of addressing global challenges, achieving prosperity for the Saudi and Turkish peoples, and supporting development and peace efforts throughout the region.
