The Islamic Alliance concludes its intellectual security program in Riyadh with international participation

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, in cooperation with the Center for Intellectual Protection, concluded its specialized training program entitled “Intellectual Strategy for Enhancing Intellectual Security,” held at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This program is part of the Coalition’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of national and international personnel in countering extremist ideologies.
Program details and themes
The five-day program saw active participation from 24 trainees representing 10 member states of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition. It included intensive training sessions and interactive workshops focusing on several key themes, most notably reviewing modern concepts of intellectual security and uncovering the methods of recruitment and psychological manipulation employed by extremist groups to infiltrate societies. Participants were also trained in mechanisms for analyzing and deconstructing extremist discourse and in building intellectual and cognitive defenses to protect youth from falling prey to terrorism.
The intellectual sphere is a fundamental pillar in the work of the alliance
This type of program is of paramount importance given the overall context of the work of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, which was established at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in December 2015 and is headquartered in Riyadh. The Coalition's work is based on four main areas: intellectual, media, military, and countering the financing of terrorism. The "intellectual sphere" is the cornerstone of this strategy, as the Coalition believes that the war on terror is not only military but primarily an intellectual war aimed at refuting extremist ideologies, correcting misconceptions, and establishing the values of moderation and tolerance in the Muslim world.
Strengthening international integration and building capacities
The implementation of this program in cooperation with the Center for Intellectual Protection underscores the importance of institutional integration and the unification of efforts among international organizations and specialized centers. This collaboration aims to exchange expertise and transfer knowledge among member states, thereby strengthening their collective capacity to anticipate terrorist threats through intellectual fortification. This program is expected to contribute to graduating a select group of specialists capable of formulating national strategies in their respective countries to combat extremism, which will positively impact regional and international peace and security.
At the conclusion of the program, the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition renewed its commitment to continue providing high-quality and specialized programs that would enhance the readiness of member states and empower them with the necessary knowledge tools to confront terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, thereby ensuring the protection of societies and preserving their civilizational gains.
