In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to developing services for pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques, the General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina launched its operational plan for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. This plan comes in preparation for an exceptional spiritual season and embodies the Two Holy Mosques' global mission of spreading guidance and the values of moderation and tolerance.

A strategic vision for maximizing the impact of faith

The President of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, announced details of the plan, which was developed according to a comprehensive methodology that anticipates the needs of visitors and pilgrims. Al-Sudais emphasized that the plan is based on seven key strategic objectives, all aimed at enriching the religious experience of visitors and solidifying the Kingdom's leading role in serving Islam and Muslims. These efforts are consistent with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great importance on the program for serving the guests of God and seeks to facilitate their accommodation and provide them with the highest quality services.

Digital transformation and artificial intelligence in service of visitors

To keep pace with rapid technological advancements, the plan has given special attention to digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It includes activating 10 operational tracks, encompassing scientific, outreach, and field aspects, in addition to a translation and languages track. This approach is part of a broader strategy to digitize religious services, facilitating access to guidance and instruction for Muslims worldwide, transcending the limitations of time and place.

Quality and global initiatives

The operational plan includes a massive package of initiatives, reaching up to 100 high-quality projects. Among the most prominent new projects unveiled are:

  • Hedayah Hackathon: To create technological solutions that serve the religious message.
  • Hidayah Center: To provide specialized guidance services.
  • The Exhibition of Reverence: To promote the values of venerating the Two Holy Mosques.

The plan also includes an unprecedented expansion of simultaneous translation services to include more than 40 international languages, reflecting the international dimension of the message of the Two Holy Mosques and ensuring that sermons and scholarly lessons reach all Muslims, regardless of their language.

Media transformation and qualified human resources

For his part, the supervisor of media and communication, Dr. Salem bin Ali Arijah, explained that the plan represents a qualitative leap in religious media, as it will focus on humanizing the content and highlighting inspiring stories from the Two Holy Mosques. A comprehensive team of over 850 personnel, supported by a select group of imams, preachers, and teachers, will work to implement this plan, ensuring the delivery of a complete spiritual experience befitting the sanctity of the time and place.
