King Salman Relief Center's aid in 4 Arab and African countries

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continues to solidify its global standing as one of the largest aid donors through a series of impactful projects targeting the most vulnerable populations worldwide. These initiatives stem from the Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work and align with the goals of Vision 2030, which prioritizes supporting affected populations and alleviating their suffering.

A unique medical project in Iraqi Kurdistan

In a move aimed at saving children's lives, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched a volunteer medical project for pediatric cardiac catheterization in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The project, which runs until the end of December 2025, aims to perform delicate therapeutic catheterization procedures for 30 children from low-income families, with the participation of eight Saudi medical volunteers.

These medical campaigns are of paramount importance given the high cost of heart surgeries and the lack of necessary equipment in some areas, making Saudi medical intervention a lifeline for many families. Saudi Consul Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Asiri commended this initiative, emphasizing that it encompasses various governorates within the region and embodies the Kingdom's noble humanitarian values.

Winter warmth in Lebanon through the "Kanaf" project

As the cold waves intensified in the Levant region, the center continued its "Kanaf-4" winter clothing distribution project in Lebanon. A total of 657 vouchers were distributed in the Sidon and Tripoli areas, benefiting orphans and people with disabilities among Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy families from the host community.

This project adopts a voucher mechanism that gives beneficiaries the freedom to choose what suits them from approved stores, thus preserving their dignity and meeting their actual needs to cope with the harshness of winter, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions that Lebanon is going through.

Supporting food security in Sudan and Chad

On the African continent, the King Salman Center intensified its efforts to support food security for refugees and displaced persons. In Chad, the center distributed 432 cartons of dates to Sudanese refugees in the Meri Sabri camp in the Wadi Fira region, as part of a large project aiming to distribute 800 tons of dates.

Inside Sudan, the center distributed 2,000 cartons of dates in the Greater Madani locality of Al Jazirah State, benefiting more than 8,400 individuals. This aid comes in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan, where dates are a vital and highly nutritious food source that helps bridge the food gap for families affected by the conflict.
