The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Foundation, held a historical photo exhibition in Moscow. This significant event commemorated the centenary of Saudi-Russian relationsand was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Georgy Borisenko, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Russian Federation, Sami bin Mohammed Al-Sudhan.

Al-Sadhan stated, “This year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Russia are commemorating the centennial of the establishment of diplomatic relations through celebrations and activities encompassing various aspects, most notably the economic, cultural, tourism, and sporting dimensions.”.
He added that this exhibition, which includes carefully selected photographs and historical documents, aims to revive a rich history of achievements, initiatives, and strategic partnerships between two pivotal nations with significant weight and standing on the international stage. He noted that bilateral relations are witnessing rapid growth in numerous fields, making the centennial celebration a unique occasion to commemorate a diplomatic legacy filled with ambitious projects that pave the way for a new era of partnership. In a related development reflecting the tangible progress in bilateral cooperation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko revealed a significant increase in the frequency of flights between the two countries. Russian flights to Saudi Arabia grew by 42% in 2025, while Saudi flights to Russia increased by over 35%.
Borisenko announced that the agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries will enter into force on May 11. He emphasized that these joint efforts and new facilitations have made relations between Moscow and Riyadh more constructive and diversified, opening up broader prospects for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two friendly nations in the near future.
