This delicate procedure was performed at Al-Qurayyat General Hospital on April 27, 2026, where the medical team successfully saved and treated a young girl suffering from severe pulmonary valve stenosis. The doctors used interventional catheterization to widen the valve with complete success. Following the procedure, the girl was transferred to the intensive care unit in stable condition and is under close medical observation to ensure her full recovery.

Historically, complex and delicate procedures such as open-heart surgery and interventional catheterization required transferring patients from peripheral and northern regions to major medical centers in Riyadh or Jeddah. This placed a significant burden on patients' families, both psychologically and logistically. This operation is the result of a broad strategic partnership that included the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital at King Abdulaziz University, the Al-Qurayyat Medical Services Association, in addition to the “Fulathat” Association specializing in the city of Makkah.

This humanitarian and medical initiative is part of the 20th trip coordinated by the “Falath” Association in close cooperation with the Qurayyat Medical Services Association to support the King Abdulaziz University team. These ongoing efforts have so far resulted in providing medical and therapeutic services to more than 800 patients in the northern region, including the cities of Qurayyat, Tabarjal, and Al-Jawf.
This mission marks the third of its kind dedicated to pediatric interventional catheterization in the Kingdom, following the resounding success of two previous missions in the Al-Jawf region. Ultimately, this remarkable medical achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the academic, healthcare, and charitable sectors to achieve quality of life goals and localize advanced medical services according to the highest international standards.
