Saudi Arabia provides aid to Gaza: distributing food baskets and urgent humanitarian assistance

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people during these difficult times, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributing urgent relief aid in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, in the Al-Qarara area in the southern Gaza Strip, complete food baskets were distributed to displaced people as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people, which comes in response to the directives of the wise Saudi leadership to stand by those affected.
A precise distribution mechanism and field partnerships
Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the Gaza Strip, managed the distribution operations according to a precise and organized plan. This mechanism aimed to ensure that aid reached the largest possible number of displaced families, prioritizing the most vulnerable and needy groups, especially women, children, and the elderly, who are suffering from a severe shortage of basic resources due to the ongoing blockade and military operations.
Beneficiary feedback and the impact of aid
The beneficiary families in the Al-Qarara region expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, for this sincere and brotherly support. The beneficiaries emphasized that these food baskets and various forms of aid arrived at a critical time, contributing, by the grace of God, to alleviating some of their daily suffering and providing for their basic needs. They noted that this support embodies the highest ideals of human solidarity and Arab brotherhood, and has left a positive and profound impact on them amidst the tragedy they are experiencing.
The scale of the Saudi relief effort: figures and facts
These distributions are just a small part of a massive relief effort. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has established an air and sea bridge to ensure the flow of aid. According to the latest statistics, 78 relief planes and 8 large ships have arrived so far, carrying more than 7,706 tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials. Simultaneously, 914 Saudi relief trucks have crossed land borders into the Gaza Strip, loaded with tons of essential aid to support the resilience of the population.
Supporting the health sector and international cooperation
Saudi support was not limited to food and shelter; it extended to the dilapidated health sector in Gaza, with the center delivering 20 fully equipped ambulances to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Furthermore, the center signed strategic agreements with international and UN organizations to implement relief projects within the Gaza Strip, totaling $90.35 million , to ensure the sustainability of humanitarian work and address all aspects of life.
Breaking the siege via airdrop
In overcoming logistical challenges and occasional border closures, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Jordanian Armed Forces, conducted airdrops of essential aid to ensure the delivery of food and medicine to besieged areas that are difficult to reach by land. This comprehensive effort reaffirms the Kingdom's historical and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to utilizing all its resources through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people during various crises and hardships.
