In various regions, 971 observations were addressed as part of the "Distinguished and Safe Roads" campaign

The Authority explained Roads“The field teams have recorded 12,157 observations since the start of the campaign, of which 971 observations, representing 8% of the total, have been addressed, while the teams continue their intensive work to address the remaining 11,186 observations, in order to ensure raising the efficiency of the roads and enhancing traffic safety levels.”.

Safe and distinctive methods
The campaign targeted a comprehensive survey of the national road network, which exceeds 73,000 km in length, with the participation of more than 620 members of the transport and logistics system, university students, special forces for road security, and representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, distributed across 61 field teams to monitor and address potholes, cracks, pavement defects, visual distortion elements, weak telephone coverage, and other aspects that affect the quality of experience for road users.

This campaign comes as a qualitative step towards achieving the objectives of the Roads Sector Program, by reaching the sixth global ranking in the Roads Quality Index, and reducing the death rate to less than 5 cases per 100,000 people, which contributes to enhancing the quality of life, maintaining the sustainability of the infrastructure, and consolidating the Kingdom’s global leadership in the interconnection of the road network in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
