Urgent: “Wiqaa” protects 80 million palm trees and reduces red palm weevil infestations to 0.15%

He pointed to the successful coding of more than 42,000 agricultural holdings in a step aimed at increasing the efficiency of tracking and monitoring.

The center highlighted the significant expansion in the use of modern technologies to enhance response speed and the accuracy of early detection of insect infestations.
It revealed the use of the advanced "BugVape" technology to inspect more than 640,000 palm trees and conduct precise, direct inspections.
The National Center for Plant Pest and Animal Disease Prevention and Control (Wiqa') emphasized that these efforts aim to bolster Saudi date exports.
It added that work continues to improve the quality of agricultural products in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals for achieving sustainability.
