The National Center for Meteorology forecasts continued thunderstorms across most regions of the Kingdom until Sunday, May 3, 2026, with intensity ranging from light to moderate, and potentially heavy in some areas.
explained The center that the weather system will affect large parts of the Kingdom, including Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Makkah, Asir, Jazan, Najran, and Al-Baha, as well as parts of Tabuk, Al-Jawf, Hail, and the Northern Borders region. It noted that the chances of heavy rainfall are concentrated in several governorates, particularly in the southern and central regions, which may be accompanied by flash floods in valleys and ravines, and strong downdrafts that could stir up dust and sand.
