Jeddah.. “Spotlight – Under the Spotlight” reflects the diversity of national musical talents
This edition comes as an extension of the “Spotlight” initiative in its third consecutive year, after it recorded a remarkable presence and distinctive musical experiences during the past two editions in a number of international cities, including London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Riyadh, and Jeddah, in a path that reflects the expansion of the initiative’s presence and the growing impact of presenting Saudi music within a diverse international cultural scene.
Spotlight Initiative
The “Spotlight” initiative is one of several initiatives that seek to highlight Saudi artists and provide them with opportunities to present their musical works to a wider audience, while also promoting Saudi music in cultural and artistic forums.
The initiative aims to discover and empower local musical talent by presenting musical events showcasing creative works both locally and internationally, fostering cultural exchange, and opening avenues for collaboration among artists. This enriches the national cultural landscape, attracts diverse audiences, and supports the development and sustainability of the music sector.
National talents
The “Spotlight – Under the Spotlight” event featured a number of live musical performances by Saudi artists and musicians. These performances reflected the diversity of the local music scene and the artistic creativity flourishing in the Kingdom, as part of efforts to support and empower national talent.
Now in its third year in Jeddah, the initiative is part of the Music Commission’s efforts to develop the music sector in the Kingdom, support and empower creative individuals, and enhance the presence of Saudi music on the regional and international stage, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 to develop the cultural sector and strengthen its contribution to the creative economy.
