Al-Ula is on the shortlist for the World Production Awards in the “Film City” category

Governorate has been AlUla shortlisted for the “Film City 2026” category at the 2026 Global Production Awards, organized by the film industry magazine Screen International, in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival. This reflects AlUla's growing presence on the global film production map.
These awards are among the most prestigious international professional awards that recognize excellence in filming locations, production infrastructure, and film cities, with the participation of leading film industry experts from around the world, thus granting them significant standing within the global film sector.
AlUla's inclusion on the shortlist further strengthens its position as an attractive destination for filmmakers, thanks to its unique natural features and diverse geography, which have contributed to transforming it into an open-air filming location that draws production companies from across the globe.

Over the past years, Al-Ula has witnessed increasing activity in the film production sector, as it has hosted the filming of a number of local and international works in the fields of films, programs and visual productions, taking advantage of its diverse environment and exceptional terrain.
