Chaired by the Crown Prince, the Cabinet affirms its commitment to protecting the Kingdom's security

The Cabinet began its proceedings with a comprehensive review of current regional developments and the evolving international landscape, which necessitates vigilance and decisive action. In this regard, the Cabinet affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to defend its security, protect its territory, and safeguard its citizens and residents.
The Cabinet and the Kingdom's firm stance on regional challenges
In a related context, the Cabinet on the intensive diplomatic communications and consultations that took place in recent days, which focused on the rapidly evolving regional developments and their potential repercussions on international peace and security. These efforts stem from the Kingdom's historical and pivotal role in promoting stability in the Middle East and its ongoing commitment to defusing crises through diplomatic channels.
The Council commended the international solidarity expressed by the leaders of brotherly and friendly nations, who condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This solidarity carries significant political implications, underscoring the centrality of Gulf security as an integral part of global security. The Council emphasized the Kingdom's full support for the brotherly nations that have been subjected to these violations and its commitment to utilizing all its resources to support efforts to maintain regional stability.
Significant leaps forward in the energy and national economy sectors
commended the Cabinet the tangible progress achieved by the Kingdom in the energy sector, particularly regarding plans to increase gas production. The commencement of production in the first phase of the Jafurah field and the commissioning of the Tanajib Gas Plant represent a major strategic step aligned with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
This development is of great importance at both the local and international levels. Locally, it contributes to providing clean and sustainable energy sources that support the industrial sector and create new job opportunities. Internationally, it enhances the Kingdom’s position as a major player in global gas markets, which supports the stability of energy markets and achieves the desired economic diversification away from total dependence on oil.
Supporting Arab causes and international resolutions
On the Arab front, the Council reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian and Yemeni peoples, noting the importance of the outcomes of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in supporting Palestinian rights. It also considered the new economic support provided to Yemen an extension of the Kingdom's fraternal policy aimed at establishing the foundations for development and stability in brotherly Yemen.
The council concluded its session by issuing a package of decisions and approvals, including the signing of memoranda of understanding with a number of countries, including Bangladesh, Canada, New Zealand, and Cyprus, in the fields of energy, scientific research, investment, and tourism, in addition to approving promotions to the fifteenth and fourteenth ranks in a number of government agencies.
