US intelligence reveals Iranian deception operation during search for pilots

Director John Ratcliffe revealed CIA that the agency launched a disinformation campaign against the Iranians to allow the search for the two pilots whose plane was shot down to continue.
At a press conference at the White House, Ratcliffe said, “In addition to the human and technical resources the president mobilized to find our two pilots, the CIA conducted a disinformation campaign designed to sow confusion among the Iranians who were relentlessly pursuing them.”

The rescue of the two American pilots

US President Donald Trump on Monday that more than 170 US military aircraft participated in the rescue operation of the two American pilots after their plane was shot down in Iran days earlier.

Trump explained during a press conference at the White House that 21 aircraft participated in the operation to recover the first crew member, and another 155 aircraft in the second rescue mission.

He added that two transport planes got stuck in the sand and rescue teams were forced to blow them up.
