Saudi Heritage Commission
The Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, previously invited academics and researchers to submit original scholarly contributions for inclusion in a peer-reviewed book dedicated to the “Darb Zubayda,” one of the most important historical pilgrimage routes in the Islamic world.
This research initiative, supported by grants and field assistance, aims to deepen understanding of the route's historical development, analyze its physical remains and environmental context, and address the contemporary challenges it faces, as part of a broader initiative to document, interpret, and preserve pilgrimage routes.
