Trump extends the deadline

US President Donald Trump to extend the deadline given to Iran to reach an agreement that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face devastating bombardment, posting a brief message that read: “Tuesday, 8:00 PM EST.”

The new deadline, at midnight Tuesday-Wednesday GMT, represents a one-day postponement of his ultimatum to Tehran, after he threatened to destroy the country's power plants and bridges if no agreement is reached.
