King Salman Center distributes winter clothes to students in Khan Younis, Gaza

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, the Center distributed complete sets of winter clothing to students in schools and educational facilities in the Mawasi Khan Younis area, in the southern Gaza Strip. This initiative comes in response to the urgent need to provide warmth for children amidst the harsh weather conditions faced by displaced people.
Field efforts and psychological support for students
The field teams of the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Gaza, carried out the distribution operations with high efficiency to ensure that aid reached those who needed it most. The efforts were not limited to material assistance alone, but also included the implementation of recreational activities and interactive events alongside the distribution process. These activities aimed to bring joy and happiness to the students and contribute to alleviating the psychological stress and trauma they experienced as a result of the ongoing events, reflecting the comprehensive Saudi vision for relief work, which combines material support with psychological care.
Context of the Saudi popular campaign
This aid falls under the umbrella of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. This campaign is one of the largest relief efforts, having successfully raised substantial donations through the "Sahem" platform and established air and sea bridges to transport thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, underscoring the strong bond between the Saudi leadership and people in supporting humanitarian causes.
The importance of timing and human impact
The distribution of winter clothing is of paramount importance at this time, given the onset of winter and the drop in temperatures, at a time when the Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe shortage of heating and suitable clothing, especially in displacement camps like Al-Mawasi, which lack adequate infrastructure. This aid directly contributes to protecting children from illnesses associated with the harsh cold and provides them with a safer and warmer learning environment, thus strengthening the resilience of Palestinian families in the face of the worsening humanitarian crisis.
A firm historical position
This support stems from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding and unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. For decades, the Kingdom has consistently provided political, economic, and humanitarian support to the brotherly Palestinian people. The work of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center embodies the Kingdom's authentic Islamic and Arab values and its noble mission of extending a helping hand to those affected around the world, thus reaffirming its leading role as one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid regionally and internationally.
