Jeddah Municipality: Maintenance of 7 million square meters of roads and development of infrastructure

In a move reflecting the accelerating pace of urban development and the improvement of municipal services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Jeddah Governorate Municipality revealed record achievements in the infrastructure sector, as comprehensive road maintenance work was carried out on a total area of 7 million square meters during the year 2025. This work comes within the strategic plans of the approved operation and maintenance programs, which aim directly to raise the efficiency of the road network in the governorate.

The annual report issued by the General Directorate of Operation and Maintenance at the Municipality detailed the scope of work completed, which included the maintenance of approximately 7,044,513 square meters of main and secondary streets. The work was not limited to paving; it also encompassed the repair and improvement of 299,292 square meters of sidewalks, thus enhancing pedestrian traffic flow. Furthermore, the Municipality paid special attention to the lighting network, maintaining 56,619 light poles in various locations, contributing to increased safety and security at night.
