Rain in the Northern Borders and Al-Jawf regions: Weather details in Arar and Sakaka

The northern regions of Saudi Arabia witnessed promising weather fluctuations today, as varying intensities of rain fell, including the Northern Borders and Al-Jawf regions, in a scene that the people of those regions are accustomed to during the transitional seasons and winter, which brought pleasant weather to the northern cities and governorates.

In detail, the city of Arar and its surrounding areas in the Northern Borders region recorded moderate rainfall, resulting in the flow of some small streams and the saturation of the land, promising a bountiful spring season. The Northern Borders region is considered one of the most important grazing areas in the Kingdom, as this rainfall directly contributes to the growth of grasses and wild plants upon which the livestock sector depends. It also plays a role in the emergence of truffles, for which the region is famous and which attract visitors from across the Gulf.

Simultaneously, the Al-Jawf region experienced light rainfall this evening, including the administrative capital, Sakaka, and its surrounding areas, extending to the Al-Qurayyat governorate and several of its affiliated centers. This rainfall will bolster the region's water reserves, which is considered the "breadbasket of the Kingdom" due to its vast agricultural areas, particularly olive and date palm groves that greatly benefit from such humid conditions, as they wash the trees and improve crop quality.

Climatically, the northern regions of the Kingdom are typically affected by low-pressure systems originating from the Mediterranean Sea, making them a gateway for rain and cold fronts. Weather experts consistently emphasize the importance of monitoring reports from the National Center for Meteorology during such times, as weather patterns are characterized by rapid change.

Regarding public safety, these rainy conditions are always accompanied by warnings from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, calling on citizens and residents to be cautious and vigilant, to stay away from flood channels and valleys, and not to risk crossing them no matter how low the water level is, in order to protect lives and property, especially on the external roads that connect the northern governorates.

These rains provide an opportunity for locals to go out and enjoy the picturesque wilderness, while adhering to environmental guidelines to preserve the vegetation that flourishes after the rainy seasons, thus promoting ecotourism and rural tourism in the north of the Kingdom.
