The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center will cover the medical treatment of Yazan Nasman, a child from Gaza

Within the framework of the leading role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays in global humanitarian work, and in continuation of its steadfast approach in supporting the Palestinian cause and standing by the brotherly Palestinian people in their ordeal, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid a new chapter of giving by sponsoring the treatment of the Palestinian child “Yazan Sami Nasman” coming from the Gaza Strip.

Details of the health condition and urgent intervention

Nine-year-old Yazan suffers from a lymphatic system tumor, a complex medical condition requiring precise and continuous treatment protocols. Due to the dire circumstances in the Gaza Strip and the near-total collapse of the healthcare system as a result of the ongoing conflict, it was impossible to provide him with the necessary care within the Strip. In response to this critical situation, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center intervened urgently to save the child's life, coordinating his transfer to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Yazan is currently receiving top-notch medical care at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, where he is undergoing a series of periodic checkups and assessments of his response to treatment under the supervision of a select group of consultants specializing in pediatric oncology, to ensure that the disease is controlled and prevented from worsening.

Strategic partnership to save cancer patients

This initiative is not an isolated case, but rather part of a comprehensive strategy and a joint cooperation agreement signed in 2024 between the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center. This ambitious agreement aims to treat dozens of patients from the Gaza Strip who have been stranded and deprived of their right to treatment due to the destruction of hospitals and the shortage of medicines and medical supplies in the Strip.

The humanitarian context and the historical Saudi role

These efforts are doubly important given the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where international reports indicate that thousands of sick and wounded people urgently need medical evacuation. The Kingdom's response, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, aims to alleviate this burden, complementing a long history of Saudi support for Palestine, which has included air and sea relief bridges, public donation campaigns, and support for UN agencies operating on the ground.

The center’s sponsorship of the treatment of the child Yazan and other patients reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian and Islamic values, and confirms that Saudi support goes beyond food aid to include specialized healthcare that saves lives and restores hope to those affected in the darkest of circumstances.
