The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice launches the "Perhaps You Will Be God-Fearing" program

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's preparations for the holy month of Ramadan and its intensified outreach and awareness efforts that address the needs of society, the President General of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad, launched the specialized awareness program "So That You May Attain Piety." This program is part of the Commission's seasonal plan to promote Islamic values and explain the virtues and rulings of fasting through modern and innovative methods.
Program details and implementation mechanisms
Dr. Al-Sanad explained that the program spans 36 days, beginning on the first day of Ramadan and continuing until the sixth day of Shawwal. This edition of the awareness programs is distinguished by its comprehensiveness and diverse tools, with the Presidency aiming to disseminate more than 300 pieces of digital awareness content across various online platforms and social media networks to ensure accessibility to all segments of society.
The program wasn't limited to the digital sphere; the Authority also strengthened its field presence by operating five mobile awareness exhibitions and launching 65 field visits to markets and public spaces. Furthermore, the Authority ensured the provision of logistical services to facilitate religious observances by equipping 18 mobile prayer areas in densely populated locations and activating 15 modern awareness platforms.
Digital transformation of the Authority's operations
The launch of the “Perhaps You Will Attain Piety” program comes within the context of the strategic transformation that the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has undergone in recent years. The Presidency has shifted from traditional methods to adopting preventative awareness strategies and utilizing modern technology and digital tools. This transformation aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which focuses on improving quality of life and developing government work to be more efficient and accessible to beneficiaries.
Through these programs, the Authority seeks to invest in religious seasons to consolidate intellectual security and promote legal awareness in a wise and good manner, taking advantage of the advanced technological infrastructure that the Kingdom possesses to reach millions of fasting people and residents.
The community and service impact of the program
This program is of particular importance due to its timing and the diversity of its services. The mobile prayer areas provided by the Authority in markets and entertainment areas during Ramadan nights contribute directly to making it easier for shoppers and visitors to perform prayers at their appointed times with ease and convenience, reflecting the Authority’s service and community role in addition to its guidance role.
The extensive digital content also aims to answer the questions of those fasting and to clarify the jurisprudential rulings related to fasting, prayer, and Zakat al-Fitr, which contributes to raising awareness and reviving religious rituals in people’s souls, in order to achieve the highest legal purpose of fasting, which is “piety,” as stated in the campaign’s title.
