This specialized program falls under the Electronic Technology Department within the Technical Colleges Diploma Program. The first phase witnessed significant interest, with a total of 387 trainees accepted, underscoring the awareness among Saudi youth of the importance of modern technologies in shaping the future of the labor market.

In this context, the Deputy Governor for Training, Dr. Adel bin Hamad Al-Zunaidi, explained that the inclusion of this specialization primarily aims to prepare qualified national talent capable of designing, developing, maintaining, and operating smart systems. Dr. Al-Zunaidi emphasized that the commencement of the training coincides with the Cabinet's decision to designate 2026 as the "Year of Artificial Intelligence." Developing the training plan and accredited colleges
The program was launched as a first phase in three leading technical colleges geographically distributed to serve a wide range of trainees: the Applied Technical College in Abha, the Applied Technical College in Riyadh, and the Technical College for Communications and Information in Jeddah. The General Directorate of Curricula worked diligently to develop the training plan according to the highest internationally recognized standards in this field. Ambitions do not stop there; there is a strategic plan for future expansion through the launch of advanced training tracks covering specialized and diverse fields within artificial intelligence and machine learning, thus ensuring a continuous flow of technical talent to meet the nation's aspirations.
