Saudi aid in Yemen: Relief and medical efforts save thousands

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center was established in 2015 as the Kingdom's humanitarian arm, placing Yemen at the forefront of its priorities and providing substantial humanitarian, development, and medical assistance aimed at rebuilding the health infrastructure and ensuring food security for millions.

Restoring hope through the prosthetic limb center in Aden

As part of ongoing medical support, the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center project in Aden Governorate provided a range of medical services to 659 beneficiaries who had lost limbs during the month of April. A total of 1,945 specialized medical services were provided through this project. Males comprised 66% of the beneficiaries, while females made up 34%. In terms of demographics, internally displaced persons constituted 56% and residents 44%. These vital services included the manufacturing, fitting, and rehabilitation of prosthetics, as well as physical therapy sessions and specialized medical consultations.

Continued healthcare for kidney patients in Al Mahrah

In addition to providing care for amputees, the dialysis center in Al-Ghaydah District, Al-Mahra Governorate, continued to provide its medical services to beneficiaries with generous support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. During April, the center received 134 patients. Of these, 55 patients received 389 scheduled dialysis sessions, in addition to 10 emergency sessions. An additional 79 patients received consultations and medical examinations at the kidney disease clinic. Males comprised 65% of the beneficiaries, while females 35%. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) accounted for 13%, residents 86%, and refugees 1%, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the services provided to all those in need.

Securing basic needs: Saudi aid in Yemen reaches Abyan

On the food front, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed 600 food baskets to the most vulnerable families in the Jul al-Sadah Miklan camp in Khanfar District, Abyan Governorate. These distributions benefited 4,200 individuals from 600 families. This initiative is part of the second phase of the Emergency Food Interventions Project in Yemen, which aims to combat malnutrition and provide food security for the most vulnerable groups.
