Safety requirements at tourist sites in Taif: Summer Campaign 2026

His Royal Highness Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, launched today the Safety Campaign for Summer 2026, which primarily aims to provide and implement the highest safety standards at tourist sites and recreational areas in Taif that witness a large influx of visitors. This launch took place during His Highness's meeting with the Director of the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the governorate, Brigadier General Turki Al-Hussaini, accompanied by a number of security and administrative leaders from the Civil Defense. During the meeting, the executive and field plans to ensure everyone's safety during the summer season were reviewed.

Campaign objectives and implementation of safety requirements at tourist sites in Taif

During the meeting, His Highness the Governor of Taif listened to a comprehensive briefing on the campaign's strategic objectives, which focus on intensifying monitoring and inspection tours to ensure the readiness of all tourist facilities. These facilities include hotels, resorts, amusement parks, public gardens, and open spaces hosting summer events. Through this initiative, the General Directorate of Civil Defense aims to raise awareness of safety precautions among investors and workers in the tourism sector and ensure their compliance with public safety regulations and instructions to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

The capital of Arab summer resorts: historical depth and a promising tourism future

Taif, historically known as the “Bride of Summer Resorts” or the “Capital of Arab Summer Resorts,” is one of the most important tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia. Thanks to its prime location in the Sarawat Mountains and its mild summer climate, it has always been a top destination for families and visitors from within the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. With the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, Taif has witnessed a significant leap forward in developing its tourism infrastructure and increasing the frequency of seasonal events and festivals. This growth has necessitated the implementation of strict security and preventative measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable tourist experience for all visitors.

Expected impact of the campaign at the local and regional levels

The importance of this campaign extends beyond direct prevention to encompass multiple economic and social dimensions. Locally, the campaign contributes to strengthening the confidence of citizens and residents in the quality and safety of recreational facilities in Taif, positively impacting domestic tourism and stimulating the hospitality and retail sectors. Regionally and internationally, adherence to the highest global safety standards positions Taif among the leading sustainable and safe tourist destinations, attracting further foreign investment in the entertainment and tourism sector and reinforcing the Kingdom's status as a global leader in tourism. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Fawaz bin Sultan commended the tireless efforts of the Civil Defense personnel, emphasizing the importance of integrated roles among various governmental and private entities to protect lives and property and ensure a successful summer season.
