The Ministry of Religious Affairs calls for adherence to Friday etiquette in the Two Holy Mosques

The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque issued an important invitation to all those who come to the Two Holy Mosques, including worshippers, pilgrims, and visitors, urging them to adhere to the etiquette and traditions of Friday, and to appreciate the greatness of this blessed day and its status in Islam, in order to contribute to the glorification of God’s rituals and the achievement of reverence and tranquility within the corridors of the Two Holy Mosques.
The importance of arriving early and listening attentively to the sermon
The Presidency, in its statement, emphasized a number of Islamic etiquettes that Muslims should observe, foremost among them arriving early for prayer, due to the great reward and immense virtue associated with it, as mentioned in authentic Prophetic traditions. It also stressed the importance of listening attentively to the Friday sermon and refraining from any distractions such as side conversations or using mobile phones. Furthermore, it emphasized the need for complete ritual purity, the application of perfume, and maintaining tranquility and dignity upon entering and exiting the mosque, avoiding anything that might distract the heart from remembrance of God and supplication during these blessed hours.
The religious significance of Friday
This directive stems from the great importance of Friday in Islam, as it is the best day on which the sun rises, and it contains an hour of acceptance during which no Muslim servant asks God for anything good without receiving it. The Presidency of Religious Affairs is working diligently to remind Muslims of these noble meanings, to ensure that acts of worship in the Two Holy Mosques are performed according to the correct Islamic method and in a manner befitting the sanctity of the place and time, where good deeds are multiplied and souls are elevated.
Promoting religious and organizational awareness
These directives fall within the Presidency's comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing religious awareness among pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques and creating an ideal atmosphere for worship that enables them to perform their rituals with tranquility. Through its ongoing awareness campaigns, the Presidency seeks to instill a culture of reverence for religious rites, which positively impacts the general conduct of worshippers.
The effect of commitment on the smoothness of movement
Beyond its religious significance, adhering to these etiquettes also carries important organizational weight. Arriving early for prayer and maintaining tranquility helps alleviate crowding at the entrances and passageways, thus facilitating the work of security and organizational personnel in managing the millions of pilgrims who flock to the Two Holy Mosques weekly. The Presidency called upon all worshippers to fully cooperate with the staff at the Two Holy Mosques and to abide by the instructions, ensuring everyone's safety and comfort and enhancing the quality of religious and logistical services provided to the guests of God.
