From the early morning hours of the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, pilgrims began to stream peacefully and serenely to Namira Mosque in Arafat to perform the combined and shortened prayers of Dhuhr and Asr, and to listen to the Arafat sermon. A profoundly spiritual atmosphere enveloped the pilgrims, amidst meticulous organization and a smooth flow of crowds, thanks to the continuous monitoring by the relevant authorities, who dedicated all their organizational and service resources to ensure the pilgrims' comfort and facilitate the performance of their rituals.
The historical and religious significance of the site of the Namira Mosque
This prominent Islamic landmark is one of the most important stops on the Hajj pilgrimage, deriving its great significance from its close connection to the Prophet Muhammad's life. The mosque was built on the very spot where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his famous sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage, a sermon that laid the foundations of Islam and the principles of human rights and equality. It is named after Mount Namira, which is located in the same area. The mosque occupies a strategic location on the northern side of Arafat, approximately 22 kilometers from the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and is the second largest mosque in the Holy Sites, making it a living testament to the history of the Muslim nation throughout the ages.

The mosque has received meticulous attention and care since the reign of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may God have mercy on him), undergoing a series of successive expansions over the past decades until its total area reached approximately 110,000 square meters. This has enabled it to accommodate hundreds of thousands of worshippers at once during the Hajj season. The building boasts a unique Islamic architectural design, stretching 340 meters from east to west and 240 meters from north to south. It also features six towering minarets, each 60 meters high, three domes, ten main entrances, and 64 gates to ensure the smooth flow of the large crowds.
To keep pace with technological advancements, the building has been equipped with the latest technological and service systems, including state-of-the-art audio and live broadcasting systems, highly efficient air conditioning and ventilation systems to maintain a comfortable environment, as well as shaded courtyards and digital information screens. Furthermore, comprehensive safety and monitoring systems have been implemented, and guidance, cooling, water, healthcare, and ambulance services are provided to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for pilgrims, enabling them to perform the Hajj rituals with ease and peace of mind.
