Filipino cultural events kick off at Al-Suwaidi Park in Riyadh
The Ministry of Media launched the Philippine Cultural Days in Riyadh on Friday, as part of the second edition of the "Global Harmony" initiative, organized by the Ministry in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, and under the umbrella of the Quality of Life Program, one of the most important programs for achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Al-Suwaidi Park, one of the most prominent areas of Riyadh Season, is hosting these events, which will continue for 4 days, amid an expected public turnout of citizens, residents and visitors.
Promoting cultural exchange and Vision 2030
These events are part of a broader strategic initiative aimed at highlighting the cultural diversity that Saudi Arabia embraces. The "Global Harmony" initiative is a practical embodiment of the goals of Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance quality of life and create a vibrant, globally engaged society. The Philippine Cultural Days hold special significance given the size and long-standing presence of the Filipino community in the Kingdom, one of the largest expatriate communities. The event aims to highlight the vital role played by Filipino residents in economic and social development, and to recognize their professional contributions across various sectors, from healthcare and engineering to services. These days offer visitors an opportunity to experience the rich Filipino cultural heritage firsthand, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the human bonds between the two nations.
A program full of arts and heritage
The event agenda features a diverse range of activities reflecting the spirit of the Philippines, with approximately 80 performers presenting artistic displays and folk dances representing the various islands of the Philippines. The program also includes concerts by renowned artists and influencers, pavilions showcasing traditional handicrafts, a food court featuring popular Filipino dishes, and recreational and educational activities for children and families.

The launch of Philippine Week follows the resounding success of the Indonesian cultural events, which concluded yesterday, Thursday, after three days of activities that drew large crowds and generated significant interaction from visitors with the artistic performances and traditional drumming. The "Global Harmony" initiative continues until the end of December, showcasing the cultures of nine different countries to offer a comprehensive cultural experience that promotes the concept of global harmony in the heart of Riyadh.
