The Philippine Cultural Days kick off at Al-Suwaidi Park in Riyadh

The “Philippine Cultural Days” event kicked off this evening in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, as part of the “Global Harmony” initiative in its second edition, organized by the Ministry of Media in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, and under the umbrella of the Quality of Life Program, one of the most important programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Al-Suwaidi Park, one of the main destinations of Riyadh Season 2025, witnessed a large public turnout of families and visitors of various nationalities to celebrate this distinguished cultural event.
Promoting coexistence and quality of life
This event comes within a broader context reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting the concepts of human coexistence and cultural exchange among the diverse cultures residing within its borders. The "Global Harmony" initiative is a practical embodiment of the Vision 2030 goals aimed at improving quality of life and creating a vibrant social environment that embraces cultural diversity. The initiative aims to highlight the lives of residents in the Kingdom and showcase their integration into the Saudi social fabric while preserving their authentic cultural identity.

The event offers visitors a comprehensive cultural journey delving into the rich heritage of the Philippines. The first day featured vibrant concerts by a selection of top Filipino artists and influencers. More than 70 performers presented captivating displays that skillfully blended traditional folk arts with modern rhythms, creating a festive atmosphere that resonated deeply with the audience.
The experience extends beyond theatrical performances to include diverse cultural pavilions that allow visitors to explore the details of daily life in the Philippines. Throughout the park, bazaars displaying colorful traditional clothing and stalls offering popular Filipino dishes provide a unique culinary experience. The event also offers photo opportunities in folk costumes, allowing visitors to capture their moments as if they were in the heart of Manila.
Highlighting the role of residents and success stories
Beyond its entertainment value, the event also carries a message of appreciation for the Filipino community, one of the largest expatriate communities in the Kingdom. It showcases inspiring success stories of Filipino residents, highlighting their active role and significant contributions to Saudi Arabia's economic, social, and cultural development. Filipino artisans also participate, offering live demonstrations of intricate handicrafts such as shell carving, jewelry making, and the creation of artistic pieces, reflecting the skill and creativity for which this people is known.
Ongoing activities and a family-friendly atmosphere
The four-day Filipino cultural events are part of a 49-day series of events under the “Global Harmony 2” initiative. The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive entertainment environment for families, with over 200 activities specifically designed for children. These include a puppet theater, a happiness theater, a color tent, as well as recreational games and photo booths, making Al Suwaidi Park an ideal destination for families throughout the week.
