Riyadh Debate Forum Program: Empowering Youth and Developing Dialogue

The Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnessed the conclusion of the Midan Debates program , a leading platform aimed at empowering young national talents and equipping them with contemporary knowledge tools. This program served as a high-level intellectual, academic, and linguistic outlet, primarily targeting the development of critical thinking and analytical skills among young people, and enhancing their ability to conduct effective dialogues based on evidence, logic, and rigorous scientific research.
The goals of the debate field program are to build a promising generation
The program, organized by the Al-Anoud Youth Development Center (WARF), affiliated with the Princess Al-Anoud Charitable Foundation in Riyadh, is based on the idea of constructive competition among youth teams seeking to prove their viewpoints on vital and diverse topics. This is achieved through a systematic approach and persuasive techniques supported by logical arguments, directly contributing to preparing a generation capable of informed discussion and positive engagement with various contemporary issues. The program focuses on developing research skills, argumentation, public speaking, persuasion, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Dialogue as a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom's Vision 2030
The growing interest in intellectual debates in Saudi Arabia is part of a broader context aimed at investing in human capital, in line with the goals of Vision 2030. Historically, developmental and charitable institutions in the Kingdom have launched impactful initiatives that nurture the energies of young people and guide them towards intellectual and cognitive development. This event represents an extension of ongoing efforts to promote a culture of dialogue and acceptance of differing opinions within society, transforming youth discussions into developmental tools that contribute to problem-solving and innovative solutions.
The expected impact of the debates at the local and regional levels
The impact of such programs extends beyond the individual participants, fostering a cultural and social movement at the local and regional levels. By empowering young people with debate skills, they become capable of representing the Kingdom effectively in international forums and regional competitions. Furthermore, promoting a culture of critical thinking helps protect young minds from extremist ideologies and guides them toward rational and systematic dialogue that addresses societal issues and supports comprehensive development.
