Power outages in Tehran and surrounding areas after energy facilities were targeted

Iran’s Energy Ministry announced that the capital Tehran , surrounding areas, and Alborz province experienced power outages on Sunday following attacks targeting electricity sector facilities.

State television quoted the ministry as saying that the electricity had been cut off in these areas, and that it was making efforts to resolve the problem.

US President Donald Trump had previously threatened to strike Iranian energy facilities if Tehran did not agree to negotiate a peace deal, but he has repeatedly extended the deadline set for this purpose.

Targeting a petrochemical plant

Earlier, Iranian media reported that a petrochemical plant in the northwestern city of Tabriz had been targeted . Al Arabiya, via its X platform account, quoted Iranian media as saying that no toxic materials had been released as a result of the attack on the Tabriz petrochemical plant.
