Blind Moroccan pilgrims praise the services of the Makkah Route Initiative

When sight is absent, the signs of care speak louder than words. With these sincere and moving words, a number of visually impaired pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative at Rabat-Salé International Airport in the Kingdom of Morocco described their overwhelming feelings. They expressed their profound gratitude for the comprehensive organizational and humanitarian services they received from the moment they arrived at the initiative's dedicated terminal, preparing to depart for Makkah to perform Hajj with ease and peace of mind. These sentiments reflect the success of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in presenting a unique model for serving the pilgrims and facilitating their performance of this religious duty.
Historical context and ongoing development of the Makkah Route Initiative
is The Makkah Route Initiative one of the most prominent strategic initiatives launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of its Vision 2030 programs, specifically within the Guests of God Service Program. This pioneering initiative was first launched in 1438 AH (2017 CE) with the aim of creating a qualitative leap in the Hajj experience and facilitating travel procedures for pilgrims from their home countries. The Saudi Ministry of Interior is implementing this initiative in its eighth year, in close cooperation and integration with several government entities, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, in addition to the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, the Guests of God Service Program, and the General Directorate of Passports, in digital partnership with stc Group. Since its launch, the initiative has successfully served more than 1,254,994 pilgrims, reflecting the scale of its achievement and the continuous development in meeting the needs of pilgrims and expanding the scope of its services.
Regional and international impact of facilitating the Hajj journey
The impact of this massive project extends far beyond the local level, encompassing broad regional and international dimensions. By streamlining passport, customs, and health procedures at the airports of participating countries before departure, the initiative alleviates pressure on Saudi airports and drastically reduces arrival times. This meticulous organization enhances the Kingdom's positive international image as a leader in crowd management and advanced logistics services. Furthermore, the initiative's continued expansion to include new countries each year underscores the Saudi leadership's commitment to providing the utmost comfort and safety for all Muslims arriving from around the world, thus strengthening the fraternal and Islamic bonds between the Kingdom and participating nations.
Exceptional human care and a smooth journey
Returning to the pilgrims from the Kingdom of Morocco, they expressed their gratitude to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the exceptional care and attention they received. They highly valued the warm welcome, the ease of procedures, and the meticulous organization that accompanied their journey from the moment they arrived at the airport's initiative terminal. The visually impaired pilgrims emphasized that the warm reception and humane treatment they received from the participating Saudi teams directly contributed to facilitating their journey and gave them a profound sense of comfort and care. This dedicated care for people with special needs highlights the noble humanitarian aspect of the services provided and confirms that serving the pilgrims is not merely an administrative procedure, but a noble mission that the Kingdom and its people cherish in serving Islam and Muslims.
