The Speaker of the Shura Council receives the new ambassadors of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

In line with strengthening communication between state institutions and supporting the Kingdom's diplomatic efforts, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, received today at the Council's headquarters in Riyadh a number of newly appointed ambassadors of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to several brotherly and friendly countries. The meeting was attended by senior Council members, including His Excellency the Deputy Speaker, Dr. Meshaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, Her Excellency the Assistant Speaker, Dr. Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al-Ahmadi, and His Excellency the Secretary-General, Mr. Mohammed bin Dakhel Al-Mutairi.
List of ambassadors present
The reception included a group of Saudi diplomats who had earned the royal trust to represent the Kingdom on different continents, namely:
- The appointed ambassador to Brunei Darussalam is Saleh bin Abdulkarim Al-Shiha.
- The newly appointed ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic is Iyad bin Ghazi Hakim.
- The appointed ambassador to the Republic of Romania (non-resident to Moldova) is Khalid bin Eid Al-Shammari.
- The appointed ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria is Yusuf bin Mohammed Al-Balawi.
- The appointed ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina is Anas bin Abdulrahman Al-Wusaidi.
- The appointed ambassador to Burkina Faso is Saad bin Musfir Al-Maimouni.
- The appointed ambassador to the Republic of Albania is Turki bin Ibrahim bin Madhi.
- Abdullah Hassan Al-Zahrani, the newly appointed ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
- The newly appointed ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan is Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Shamrani.
- Ambassador-designate to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mazid bin Mohammed Al-Huwaishan.
- The appointed ambassador to Nepal is Fahd bin Mohammed bin Munikhir.
- The appointed ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (non-resident to Cambodia) is Thamer bin Mohammed Al-Qusaibi.
The importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the integration of roles
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh began the meeting by congratulating the ambassadors on the royal trust bestowed upon them, wishing them success in their national duties. The discussion touched upon the strategic importance of the ambassadors as a vital link reflecting the Kingdom's developmental progress, emphasizing that their role complements the Shura Council's efforts in activating "parliamentary diplomacy.".
This meeting is of particular importance in light of the political and economic activity led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the regional and international stages, where diplomatic missions play a pivotal role in explaining the Kingdom’s firm positions on just causes, and its established policy based on supporting international peace and security, non-interference in the internal affairs of countries, and promoting joint cooperation.
Representing the Kingdom in light of Vision 2030
During his remarks, the Speaker of the Shura Council noted that ambassadors carry the Kingdom's message and its ambitious "Vision 2030" to the world, emphasizing the need to work on opening new horizons for cooperation in the economic, investment, and cultural fields with host countries. He explained that the Kingdom's position as an active member of the G20 and an influential force in the global economy necessitates diligent diplomatic efforts to highlight promising opportunities and mutually beneficial partnerships.
For their part, the ambassadors of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, commending his guidance and the explanation they received regarding the Council's working mechanisms and the parliamentary friendship committees that link the Shura Council with various parliaments around the world. They affirmed their commitment to exerting their utmost efforts to serve the interests of the nation and its citizens abroad, and to work towards strengthening bilateral relations in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the wise leadership and serves the supreme national interests.
