Public transport bus operating hours in Madinah 1447

The Madinah Bus Project has officially announced updated public bus for the year 1447 AH. This strategic step aims to facilitate transportation for residents, visitors, and pilgrims throughout the second holiest city, providing a comfortable and safe transportation experience that meets everyone's needs around the clock.

The development of the transportation system and its connection to the Kingdom's Vision 2030

In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed a qualitative leap in its transportation sector, driven by the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Within this context, the public transportation project is considered one of the most vital projects overseen by the Madinah Region Development Authority. Historically, the city relied heavily on traditional transportation methods and private vehicles, but with the continuous increase in the number of visitors to the Prophet's Mosque, the urgent need arose for a sophisticated and sustainable public transportation network.

This comprehensive development aims to accommodate the significant increase in the number of pilgrims, with the vision to host 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually. To achieve this, upgrading the transportation infrastructure, increasing the number of routes, and extending operating hours have become essential to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion in the central area and its surroundings.

The project's new update includes the operation of 15 strategic routes to serve beneficiaries throughout Medina, taking into account the density of locations and the number of stations on each route. Operating hours have been divided to align with population density and daily visitor traffic.

The economic and social impact of developing transport services

The impact of this upgrade extends far beyond simply transporting passengers from one point to another; it encompasses broad economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Locally, the project directly contributes to alleviating traffic congestion on main roads and reducing carbon emissions from private vehicles, thereby enhancing the quality of life and protecting the city's urban environment.

Regionally, linking bus stations to vital facilities such as the Haramain High-Speed Railway station and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport facilitates seamless travel between the Kingdom's cities. Internationally, this development reflects the Kingdom's commitment to providing the highest quality services to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque from all corners of the earth, leaving a positive impression and enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind, especially during peak seasons like Hajj and Umrah.
